Researchers from Ciberimaginario Deliver a Workshop on Virtual Worlds as Part of the UPRAISE Project at the University of Naples Federico II, Italy

Within the framework of the UPRAISE project, Leading the Way in Virtual Worlds Training, Professor Alejandro Carbonell Alcocer and predoctoral researcher Nerea Benítez Aranda delivered a workshop for students of the Master in Digital Transformation of Public Administration: Organization, Skills, and Technologies. The session focused on understanding the value of both traditional and immersive communication products in the digital transformation of public administration. The researchers, who belong to the Ciberimaginario research group, are currently undertaking a research stay at the University of Naples Federico II, Italy.

The session combined a theoretical component with a practical approach. First, it addressed the role of communication in public administration, focusing on key challenges in information delivery, such as the complexity of administrative language, fragmentation of information, and difficulties in understanding processes and their consequences for citizens. Based on this analysis, various communication formats developed by the Ciberimaginario research group in the context of competitive research projects were introduced, including infographics, audiovisual content, data visualization, and interactive and immersive experiences. Finally, through a collaborative activity, students worked on real cases from their own professional contexts. This activity highlighted the importance of adapting communication formats to the type of information and user profile, as well as the potential of digital technologies to enhance citizen participation and satisfaction.

The master’s program is coordinated by Professor Paolo Canonico and includes the participation of Professor Andrea Tomo and researcher Lucio Todisco, from the Department of Economics, Management and Institutions. All of them are part of the European UPRAISE project, which focuses on developing capacities in advanced digital technologies and virtual environments across different domains, including public administration.
