URJC Promotes a European Workshop on Communicating the Energy Transition Through Virtual Worlds, Published on the Digital Skills and Jobs Platform

The international workshop “XR Workshop: Communicating the Energy Transition through Virtual Worlds”, organised by Universidad Rey Juan Carlos (URJC), has been featured on the Digital Skills and Jobs Platform, the European Commission’s platform dedicated to digital skills, training, and innovation initiatives across Europe.

The workshop will take place on 30 June and 1 July 2026 at URJC’s Aranjuez campus and is part of the European UPRAISE Project. The initiative is also supported by the POWER and eComciencia projects, together with the university’s Chair of Energy Transition and Chair of Circular Economy.

Over two intensive days, students from communication, engineering, and scientific disciplines will collaborate in multidisciplinary teams to create immersive WebXR experiences focused on sustainability, renewable energy, and circular economy challenges. Participants will combine storytelling, data visualisation, and extended reality tools to transform complex scientific information into accessible virtual narratives.

The programme will include expert talks, practical workshops, and project presentations exploring how immersive technologies can contribute to science communication and public engagement around the energy transition.

The publication of the event on the Digital Skills and Jobs Platform highlights the growing European interest in XR technologies and virtual worlds as key tools for education, innovation, and the green transition.
